GIDEP, Government Industry Data Exchange Program is a cooperative effort to exchange research, development, design, testing, acquisition and logistics information among our government and industry members. Leveraging this cooperative effort, GIDEP is deploying modernization tools coupled with our vast historic database to drive improvements in counterfeit authentication. GIDEP members will experience efficiency in reporting counterfeits by utilizing our statistical counterfeit trend-analysis models that will demonstrate detection techniques, and level-of-confidence methodologies. GIDEP’s statistical counterfeit trend-analysis models are based on our historic data from test houses, industry, government agencies, OEMs and suppliers. GIDEP’s statistical counterfeit trend-analysis models are categorized by industry standard counterfeit defect codes. Our statistical counterfeit trend-analysis models will highlight areas of interest, whereby our members can proactively mitigate possible suspect counterfeit parts. GIDEP “modernization” is moving to become a more agile database as we continuously strive to effectively meet the needs of our members. This new database will feature data-centric resources that with foster an inherent communication and collaborative network among our members.
