Abstract
AS6171 - Test Methods Standard; General Requirements, Suspect/Counterfeit, EEE Parts will be issued in 2016. This standard will document the test methodologies to detect suspect counterfeit parts and to ensure consistency across the supply chain for test techniques and requirements. You cannot obtain registration or certification to AS6171. In order to show competency for the test methods, you must become ISO/IEC 17025 accredited with the AS6171 test methods included on your scope of work. This presentation will address the following:
- Why can't AS6171 test methods be added to my ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9120 certification?
- How is ISO/IEC 17025 referenced in AS6081 and AS6171?
- Critical Requirements for ISO/IEC 17025
- ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation Process
