Overview of PHMBIT

Abstract:

Many Wooden Rounds or generic complex systems that are currently fielded or operational, have limited if any maintenance performed, have no routine tests performed, however, most of these systems typically execute a Built-In-Test (BIT) just prior to being expected to perform with a high degree of reliability. This innovative PHMBIT technique provides the system and design engineers pertinent raw data on re-occurring hardware design (or software) BIT failures for trend analysis and prognosis. PHMBIT provides a closed loop feedback from fielded complex systems to the engineering authority for design change implementation, which enables a more robust and reliable wooden round or generic complex system to be manufactured.
