Abstract:

This work shows that in frequency domain open-region finite element method (FEM) simulations, the reflected evanescent waves in waveguides can be effectively annihilated when using the concurrent complementary operators method (C-COM). Numerical results for both evanescent TE and TM modes in a parallel plate waveguide are provided.
