Abstract:
The development of China's semiconductor industry has become the number one priority of China's Ministry of Information Industries, next to information technology. To boost domestic industry and reduce reliance on imports, the government is putting the semiconductor industry in a position for development, and is encouraging foreign technology and management support. This paper presents the new fabs in China that have been put into production, are being built, or under plan. These fabs are strongly dependent on foreign investment, technology and management, and directly impact the future development of China's IC industry.
