WHile traditional design planning rarely strays beyond performance issues
such as timing, power, and signal integrity, global competition is forcing
designers to consider manufacturability and the economics of electronic
systems. Such considerations can avert significant design risk and increase
the value of performance-optimization activities. Software tools can help
in this kind of analysis.
