Electronic Packaging
M. Pecht and P. McCluskey
Electronic packaging is the art and science of connecting circuitry
to reliably perform some desired function, in some application environment.
Besides electrical interconnection, the package provides a suitable housing
to enable ease of handling in assembly operations (i.e., component mounting
of printed circuit boards, and assembly into products). This report
defines the technology of electronic packaging, with emphasis on chip packaging,
and printed circuit board assemblies.
