Design and Analysis of Electronic Assemblies Using CALCE Software Version 3.0
E. Hakim, M. Pecht, and D. Barker
Abstract:
The University of Maryland CALCE software is a set of 75 integrated
tools for the design and analysis of electronic assemblies. The software
can be used for the design of complex multi-layer printed wiring boards
(PWBs), the selection and placement of components, determination of component
junction, case, and substrate temperatures, the calculation of components
and system failure rates, generation of reliability models for redundancy,
calculation of vibrational effects on component leads for both surface
mount and axially lead components, calculation of thermal and mechanical
solder joint fatigue for leadless and leaded surface maintainability and
derating conditions.
